Introduction of sections

Library for Life Sciences
The Library for Life Sciences is co-constructed and shared by CAS, Shanghai Library and Shanghai Institute of S&T Information. It has become a specific source and service multimedia center of life sciences. Now it (since 1953) holds totally about 3.4 million copies of books and journals, 18 full text databases, 16 abstract databases, 1 CD database, and various free databases. Thus the library resource with characteristics of life sciences is formed, and S&T innovation consulting and evaluating service and information consulting service are offered.

United Editorial Offices
The United Editorial Offices includes 11 academic journals, 1 abstract journal and 1 popular scientific magazine. Of these journals many are the pivotal ones supported by National Natrual Science Fund (Journal) and obtain the awards of National Periodicals. Many of them are included into the "One Hundred Excellent Periodicals" of China and SCI, which aroses great influence home and abroad.

Network Management Offices
The Network Management Offices is responsible for the network maintenance, website consstruction and software development for the fice areas of SIBS. It has achived a lot in the digitalization of researches and maganement, and offered network platform with high quality for scientific innovation.

United Offices of Sociaties
The United Offices of Sociaties manages routine work for 4 national societies and 6 local sociaties. It promotes the academic communication and science popularization through system innovation and working efficacy improvement. It co-established Shanghai Youth Basis of S&T Education and Experiment Basis of Scientific Research Institute with Shanghai goverment.

Archives of Shanghai Institutes for Biological Science
With the holistic structure of "one library, 2 units and 7 sections", the Archives of Shanghai Institutes for Biological Science offers networked archive services for SIBS. It is responsible for the collection, entry, digitalization and research of archives in SIBS.

Meeting & Exhibition Unit
The Meeting & Exhibition Unit offers a communication platform for researchers, and the characteristics of "perfect service for the meeting of excellence". It possesses the ability of undertaking international and national meeting, exhibition and large-scale activities with first-class services for meeting sponsors and attendees.

Science & Culture Exchanging Center
As a communicating and propagandistic window, the Science & Culture Exchanging Center follows the needs of research and market, uses the resources of human and knowledge in SIBS to dissaminate the latest scineced and technology, to promote the advanced management ideas through training, lecture, exhibition and related products sales. Thus serves for the innovative culture.
